Episodes in Focus: Sleeper/Habeas Corpses
It's time for two shiny new Episodes in Focus. Next week we are looking at Sleeper and Habeas Corpses. So from Monday your time, get sharing whatever you have to share on these body-count-tastic new Episodes in Focus.

Episode in Focus: Sleeper
We start this episode in an uncomfortable position: we know something our characters don't. In this case, we know that Spike is killing again, chip no barrier. Buffy just heard that he sired Holden. Everyone else thinks he's just soul-based insane, in a non-specific way. The gang get investigating Spike pretty quick; though leaving Anya to babysit a known killer is maybe not everyone's best tactical decision? And we the viewers start to understand a little more of what the enemy is doing with Spike, at least. "Early one morning, just as the sun was shining…"

Key quote:
XANDER
Look, we don't actually know that he's killed anyone. You know, lately. Might all just be a mistake.
ANYA
Yeah, but you don't think so. OK, have you searched his room for clues? Trophies from victims? Killers like to keep trophies sometimes. Scalps, necklaces made from human teeth.
XANDER
You know, it didn't occur to me to look, but thanks for the tip. OK, so you'll be safe in here. Plenty of sunlight for you to hide in. (tries to leave)
ANYA
(follows him) What? That's it? You're not at least gonna like leave me a crossbow or a flame thrower? Something to protect myself?
XANDER
We don't want him to know we suspect anything. Besides if he tries to leave, I don't want you confronting him. Call Buffy and just let her know that he's on the move. You're gonna be fine.
ANYA
Better be, because if I get vamped, I'm gonna bite your ass.

Episode in Focus: Habeas Corpses
Did anyone doubt that this season was going to be a game changer? Well, if you did, I'm guessing you're about to change your mind, as the gang tries to recover from the rain of fire and the mysterious Beast obliterates the workforce of Wolfram and Hart Los Angeles. With Connor in the centre of the building, our gang spring to the rescue, into a building in lockdown and, it turns out, over an army of zombies. We also say a fond goodbye to one of W&H's pettiest villains, Gavin Park. A perfect Halloween episode, in fact. How about a rewatch Wednesday night?

Key quote:
CONNOR
It's here. The beast.
LILAH
It's probably just an after-shock. They sometimes make the power go out. (picks up the phone, presses buttons, hangs up. to Gavin) Try a walkie.
Gavin walks over to one of the guards Connor knocked out earlier and grabs a walkie-talkie two-way radio off of him.
GAVIN
(to walkie-talkie) This is Gavin Park to the front desk. Over. Come in front desk.
GUARD (O.S.)
Ah, this is the front desk Mr. Park, we're kinda— Oh, no! Oh, my God!
LILAH
Tell him to stop whining and make a report.
GUARD (O.S.)
Send backup! Oh, God! Somebody please—No!
CONNOR
(to Lilah) Told you.
LILAH
(to Gavin) Go downstairs, and check it out. (stands, shakes his head "no") Gavin, ask yourself this question: what are you more afraid of, a giant murderous demon or me?
GAVIN
(grins nervously) Be right back.
LILAH
(to Connor) Have any idea what this thing wants?
CONNOR
Everybody dead.
