Episodes in Focus: Never Leave Me/Long Day's Journey
It's time for two shiny new Episodes in Focus. Next week we are looking at Never Leave Me and Long Day's Journey. Right into the meat of the mid-season arcs here, and lots to chew on. So from Monday your time, get sharing whatever you have to share on these thrilling new Episodes in Focus.

Episode in Focus: Never Leave Me
Spike's been a very naughty boy – but was he responsible for his recent crimes? Buffy's trying to work out what's going on, while weaning Spike off human blood and hearing some uncomfortable truths about William the Bloody. And how about Andrew, who very definitely did just kill Jonathan and tries to kill an innocent piglet, though our heroes know neither of those things yet. He's swaggerin' the old Spike walk back into town, till Willow captures him with just the power of her scary voice, and Xander and Anya get their good cop/bad cop act on. Two very different interrogations, two very different captives. But Revello Drive's really starting to fill up with guys tied to chairs, till Spike tries to eat Andrew, and some eyeless men steal Spike away… Far, far away in London, something big goes bang, giving us an explosive end to the episode, even before the Seal of Danzalthar is opened. Tune in next week to see how that goes…

Key quote:
Xander and Anya come out of Dawn's room, where they were interrogating Andrew. They look mad. Once they shut the door, Xander turns to face Anya, who's leaning against the door, smiling.
ANYA
(giggles) Did you see that? I actually made him cry.
XANDER
You were perfect. I was worried I overdid it with the whole "easy way, hard way" thing.
ANYA
No, you were great! And I wasn't sure if I should slap him, but then he made me want to slap him, so I thought, OK, slap him!
XANDER
He'll be singing in no time.
ANYA
So, what do we do now?
XANDER
Now, we let him stew in his own juices for a bit, then we give him the hard brace.
ANYA
Right. (Buffy comes out of her room, which is adjacent to Dawn's) What's the status with your guy?
BUFFY
He's not talking yet. We'll get there. How's your guy?
ANYA
The weasel wants to sing. He just needs a tune.

Episode in Focus: Long Day's Journey
Obviously, your FantasMods are completely objective and adore every one of the episodes we open up for your fanworks, but indulge me: I *love* the mini arc we catch glimpses of in this episode, the understanding of Mesektet (aka White Room's creepy little girl) and the rest of the Ra'tet, the sleaziness of Manny-Manjet, the sight of Gwen being a little freaked, the way Mesektet's last words ("The answer is among you!") are causing fissures in Team Angel – and most of all, the plan of the Beast. To blot out the sun by eating it. Don't tell me that doesn't freak you out a little.

Especially because, by the end of the episode, it’s working.

Key quote:
GWEN
Met with a client last night in the oil fields, which is odd, 'cause I bagged for this guy six years—big money—and he never wanted to meet before.
CORDELIA
Fascinating as these details must seem to you, we're dealing with much more important stuff right now. Apocalypse. End of the world.
GWEN
Also, while we were talking, he, um, got his chest punched out a big demon with a head made of rock. Demon, OK? The whole nine—cloven feet and horns and teeth— (sees Lorne) He wasn't wearing lamé though.
LORNE
Yeah, the evil ones can't pull it off. It gets camp.
WESLEY
This client of yours, was anything removed from the body?
GWEN
Didn't see. (to Angel) But you are, hands down, the weirdest person I know, so I figured I'd ask you what's going on.
FRED
(holding a book) Um, excuse me—not that I don't still bear a grudge against you, because I do—but your client didn't happen to be a skinless saber-tooth tiger or composed entirely of light, maybe?
GWEN
Light came out of his chest. How did you know?
GUNN
You wanted a pattern. That makes three.
FRED
He's killing the Ra-tet.
